Tim and Kim have long been associated with the Auto Industry. They have years of car show experience, restoring, and competing in the car show circuit and winning some competitions. They have also done some charities for Multiple Sclerosis and also for Toys for Tots. In their current business, The Bumper Shop, they have perfected a plastic bumper recycling business.
In 1994 Tim and Kim's involvement began by sponsoring a Mini-stock team that raced locally. Tim assisted in building and fabrication work on the car to actually building their race engine. This team won a NASCAR Winston Racing Series Track Championship. The following years finished with second and third place championships.
Tim and Kim moved to a Limited-Late Model team. On this team they assisted in all aspects. From Chassis fabrication, body and paint, tire set-up, engine etc... greatly increasing their knowledge of this particular class and the sport itself.
After two years with this team Tim and Kim decided to purchase their own car. Tim and other performance specialists have built this car from the ground up. In 1999 they ran a limited schedule to "de-bug" the team and their car before seeking sponsorship.
In 2000 they ran a series in which consisted of ten 100-lap races. With 56 teams competing in this series they finished in the top 10. They also raced to benefit a local charity "A CHILD'S DREAM" helping raise enough money to see a local boy from Orange City who has a life-threatening illness dream come true.
The 2001 season saw a lot of change. From Tim and AJ working and traveling North America with MST on their Grand Am Cup Road Racing Championship bid, to the building and adding of new equipment. It saw a business of custom race car fabrication, paint and body work, composite repair and the manufacturing and sale of RACEBOND, our composite repair product.
The 2002 season saw a lot more change. Our passionate hobby was really trying to turn into the racing business we could only hope for. With several teams traveling from Europe to race the American LeMans Series, Grand Am Rolex and Porsche BMW owners club. All these teams required Black Racing to prep and maintain their cars for competition here in the states.
This has introduced us to some of the top teams and people in racing today. We feel that this has added to our racing experience and competitive level and will carry us into the year 2003 with our own racing goals and our customers' racing programs.
Black Racing feels that we have a TOP NOTCH team and car that can and will win races in the 2003 season.
